Star Tracer Features

Star Tracer checks videos in and out and sells food and accessories with ease, plus keeps track of your customer's credits and debits. On top of that, Star Tracer provides all the reports you need for your business to succeed.

Basic Features

• "Credit balance" on customer account (and Star Tracer will ask if it's OK to use that credit)
• Customer credit for returning a movie early
• Refunds can be given for cash or credit
• In checkout screen, customers can be looked up by ID number, last name or phone number
• Change calculator - Star Tracer can calculate customer change for the clerk. (this option can be turned on/off)
• Receipt printing can be turned on/off. (and you can choose to not print if the transaction is a "No Charge".)
• Super flexible "free count" system - Customers can get a free rental after they earn a certain number of points . YOU decide how many points they get for different kinds of rentals

Checkout Screen Features

• Add a new customer very quickly ("Quick Customer")
• Access an instant table of special pricing options (package prices, etc.)
• Assign this checkout to any of the "authorized users" using this customer's account
• View the recent rental history of a customer (answers the question "Have I rented that one before?
• Look up a title instantly to see the availability of all copies (and when they're due back)
• Look at a long list of available titles starting with a certain letter or word ("I'm looking for a movie called 'Happy'
  something. Do you have it?")
• Accept just a partial payment for a late fee
• "Charge" a rental or sale ("Put it on my Tab!")
• Easily change the price charged for rentals, sales, overdue fees (all changes are reported at the close of the day)
• Easily "change your mind" in the middle of a checkout: remove one or more lines from the receipt
• Issue store credit to a customer
• Accept payment from a number of types: cash, credit card, coupon, gift certificate, etc.
• Change the number of days this movie is checked out for
• Print a bill (statement) for a customer's overdue charges

Checkout Features That Happen Automatically

• Warn you that a customer's store membership (or credit card!) is expired
• Give the customer store credit if he's bringing back the tape early (the computer will ask you if it's OK)
• Remind you that it's time to check on the condition of this rental machine or tape
• Give the customer a "free movie" if they've earned enough points (the computer will ask you if it's OK)
• Require a password from the customer if he is renting a certain item (like adult films)
• Recall which family member rented this tape (Additional family members may be authorized to use one account)
• Recall which clerk (operator) conducted this transaction
• All of the above features can be turned "on" or "off"
